Career Tip of the Week
If you have been mass applying to jobs, and feel stuck, you are not alone. These three steps can help you effectively reset and use your time more effectively:
1️⃣ - Take a step back and clarify what jobs/industries/companies you ACTUALLY are interested in. You can set them at high/medium/low priority. This will also be important because when you talk to people externally, you'll have a clearer point of view, which is very important!
2️⃣ - Map your network! You know more people than you realize, and with your new clearer narrative on your focus areas, they can be helpful and pointing you in new directions
3️⃣ - Use time blocking to set realistic daily goals, make regular progress, and prioritize your top jobs!
You can check out the full video of me talking through these concepts here!

Overheard from a recruiter
I’m having conversations with recruiters, hiring managers, and other talent decision-makers weekly, and want to share tidbits of what I’m learning with y’all here too!
One of the main things we hire for is enthusiasm for the company, so the first question we ask is “what do you know about our work?” And most of the time, people say “nothing, I’m hoping you can tell me.”
This morning, a recruiter I spoke to said that they hire a lot of entry-level candidates, and they don’t expect them to know everything day one, but they want people who have some baseline knowledge or enthusiasm for the company.
But most of the people who come in for that interview haven’t even bothered to look at the company website before the call.
This is a huge miss.
Remember - candidates often look very similar on paper. So you have to find other ways to stand out. And one of the best ways to do that is to have done your homework, and show up with some sort of point-of-view on why the role, industry, and company are interesting to you.
I know this is a basic tip, but something that is important to reiterate over and over!
