How should you reply when you get a job offer?

Yesterday, I hosted a panel with three awesome early-career recruiters and program managers who shared a few tips on how to stand out in a competitive market.
Their biggest piece of advice: don’t limit yourself to “traditional” work experiences.

It’s never too early to start practicing for your job interview. Interviewing is like learning another language because let’s be real, no one talks like they’re interviewing in real life.
This will be a hands-on interview workshop, where you’ll be practicing live with fellow job seekers.

Overheard from a recruiter
I’m having conversations with recruiters, hiring managers, and other talent decision-makers weekly, and want to share tidbits of what I’m learning with y’all here too!
I don’t believe AI is going to wipe out entry-level jobs, but I do think we have to reimagine how we scope the jobs themselves
There is an (understandable) amount of angst around the future of AI, and its implications on jobs (particularly more junior-level positions). Not everyone feels this way, but the early-career program managers I spoke to yesterday all feel pretty strongly that we’ll still need young professionals in the workplace. Here’s why I agree:
AI is still a ways away from being accurate. For example, an analyst at a big-name consulting firm said she tried to create a client presentation using AI and nearly every slide had a significant error. She saved time on creating the first draft, but still had to go through and manually review the data to ensure it was correct. That’s not something a more senior person is going to want to do.
Certain industries/roles are still very relationship driven. For example, one of the speakers yesterday works in the food consumer products space and said that their industry still relies heavily on that human-to-human connection.
There are some things that AI simply cannot replicate that matter a lot to a business running effectively. A great example is recruiting. AI can help with certain elements of recruiting (e.g. coordinating calendars, taking notes, etc.). However, anyone who has done recruiting can tell you that often the best hires have a certain intangible “quality” that helps them fit into a larger company culture. AI cannot catch those sorts of qualities, and if we rely on it entirely, we’re going to lose out on incredible talent which will hold back businesses from their full potential.
Now, a lot will certainly change now, similar to when computers were first introduced, so we should all keep a close watch. But this is my take on where things stand now!
